Reiki With Rachel

  • Reiki is the energy of pure Love.

    Reiki (pronounced ray-key) originated in Japan and is a very specific form of energy healing intended to create deep relaxation, help remove blockages in your energy system that may be causing physical and emotional health problems, and stimulate your body’s own innate healing abilities.

    Rei means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power/Universal” and Ki is “life force energy”; Reiki is “spiritually guided life force energy” that treats the whole person physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. While spiritual in nature, Reiki is not a religion and there is nothing you must believe in order to experience and receive the benefits of Reiki treatment.

    At the root of Reiki is the concept that disease is caused by imbalances of vital energy in the body and that correcting these imbalances promotes healing. The energy transfer that occurs during a Reiki treatment works holistically in harmony to compliment and improve the effectiveness of all other kinds of treatment, including medical and psychological care.

    Reiki treatments are completely safe and non-invasive. I will spend time with you before each session to ensure you are well informed and comfortable, then post-session to share what I felt in your energy during the treatment and/or answer any additional questions or concerns you might have.

    Unlike massage therapy, you will remain fully clothed, so I recommend wearing loose-fitting comfy clothing. Treatment is given while you are resting on a massage table with shoes removed (if lying down is an issue, you can remain seated in a comfortable chair). I also provide sheets, blankets, and a bolster pillow for under your knees. Lights will be lowered, calming relaxation music is played softly in the background, and treatment may also incorporate sound baths, tuning forks, smoke cleansing, crystals, and essential oils depending on your personal preference.

    During treatment, I will use specific Reiki hand positions intuitively with gentle touch (or no-touch), beginning at the crown of your head and moving around your body, stimulating the flow of “Ki” energy. You may feel tingling, heat, or warming sensations and may also experience visualizations such as colors, pictures, or memories.

    Each session is unique and your experiences may become deeper the more you continue with Reiki. Rest assured, all treatments are intended to be pleasant and very relaxing, leaving you aglow with a peaceful and vitalized aura.
